About Daniel

Basics:
32 years old, half Spaniard half Dane, married to Marianne, living in a suburb outside Århus in Denmark.

Profession:
Fulltime stock photographer shooting exclusively for iStockphoto.com (to see his collection go here www.istockphoto.com/laflor). Together with his stylist Lone Dahl, Daniel produces an average of 400 images per month.

Background:
Living as a monk Daniel Laflor used to study ancient Vedic Philosophy and has travelled and studied in numerous temples all around India (1996-2000). Embarking on the path to family life he settled down in his home country and studied business management and social innovation at the KaosPilot University (2001-2004). Later Daniel trained as a professionel desktop publisher, starting his own graphic design company (2004-2007). Working as a freelance retoucher for different photographers the interest for photography grew. This led to a career change making freelance photography the primary profession (2007-2008). Seeing an add for a lecture by Yuri Arcurs in the local photo gear store made Daniel take an evening out of the calender to attend the lecture. This led to about 100 questions to Yuri Arcurs, leaving Daniel enthused about the whole concept of stock photography. 6 months later, after a series of thourough interviews at Yuris office, Daniel got hired as Yuris assistant. 5 months later Daniel was adviced to create his own collection which is now becoming a reality.
